Press release: Meet South Tyneside Friends of the Earth
Members from South Tyneside's own Friends of the Earth group will be
in King Street, South Shields, on Saturday 7th May between 10.00am and
12 midday to give green advice and listen to environmental
concerns.
Bryan Atkinson, South Tyneside FOE spokesperson said: "The environment is becoming more important to people and many are interested in a greener lifestyle. Unfortunately, the perception of doom and gloom about some environmental issues can make it seem as if nothing can be done. "These issues can be resolved with positive action, as has been shown with recycling, renewable energy and the ban on genetically modified foods. But there's always more that can be done. "That's why South Tyneside Friends of the Earth will be in King Street on Saturday morning. We're looking forward to talking with anyone interested in green issues, and hopefully we can make links with people who want to get involved in campaigning for a better environment for everyone."
